Guided tour of the Leiden Anatomical Museum

Bike tour to dunes and sea

The Anatomical Museum at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) hosts more than 800 specimens and models of the human body. It is a unique assemblage of historical anatomical preparations and specimens originally collected to support medical and biomedical education at Leiden University. Notably, in recognition of its cultural and educational significance, the museum received a nomination for the esteemed European Museum of the Year Award in 2009.

Normally, the Anatomical Museum is not open to the public. The tour offered to the Paleopathology Association Meeting Attendees is therefore a unique opportunity to visit the museum, to look at the pathological specimens on display, and to learn about Leiden’s historical medical tradition.
